Higher Security Shutters

ORDER DIRECT FROM US FOR THE BEST PRICE - CALL 01844 340938 FOR AN INSTANT QUOTE

Shutter Spec Direct offer a market leading range of higher security roller shutters for circumstances which require increased levels of security for homes, offices and commercial premises.

Our high security shutters can be either solid, punched/perforated or slatted, giving you great options to maintain visibility whilst staying completely secure. This level of security ideally requires a site inspection to ensure that the environment and opening type is suitable, so we can't give you an instant quote - however, if you would still like to order through us, please complete our Quick Quote form or call our sales team and we'll be happy to advise and arrange a site inspection where required.

Before ordering our higher security shutters we recommend a site survey. If you want an idea of price beforehand, you will need to take some measurements, decide on the style and operation type you want, then choose a colour before either filling in our Quick Quote form or calling our sales team.

Our domestic shutters come with two fitting types and five shutter operations:

FITTING TYPES (External Only)

Face Fitting

When you have plenty of space around your opening, you can Face Fit your security shutters. This means the shutter box and guide rails are fitted to the surface surrounding the opening, meaning when your shutters are up, you have full light and the shutter is not visible from the outside.

Reveal Fitting

When the opening has limited surrounding space, you may have no option but to have a Reveal Fitting. This is where the entire mechanism (inclusing shutter box) is fixed within the opening. This is a neat solution, but will impact on external light.

If you're confident of your requirement, simple fill out our Quick Quote Form and we'll send you a guide price.

If you need more information or guidance, call us and we'll be happy to talk you through every aspect of your purchase.

All of our higher security shutters are made to order, either for delivery direct to your home for you to install yourself, or if you take advantage of our excellent installation service. The standard colour is galvanised steel, but you can also choose from a wide range of additional powder coated RAL colours.

Our Quick Quote price is not final, it should only be considered as a guide price for your requirement.

OPERATION TYPES

Security Shutter Operation Types

Motor & Switch Operation

For larger shutters, or for ease of use, electric operation is ideal. Most larger shutters will simply be too heavy to operate manually, and so electric operation is required. Where you have more than one electric shutter on your premises, these can be controlled individually or collectively, either by an internal rocker switch, a security key switch, or by remote control. Manual overrides are standard on all options.

Spring Loaded Operation

Very popular for internal shutter security (such as bars and serveries), the Spring Loaded option is very quick and simple to fit. Simply grab the bottom edge of the shutter and push upwards or pull downwards to open and close. In the UP position, the shutter is held in place automatically, and in the DOWN position the shutter is lockable.

Rod Crank Operation

Essentially the same as the Geared Belt Operation, but with a Rod Crank System. Also suitable for larger/heavier shutters.

Geared Belt Operation

This is the same basic mechanism as the swivel belt, but instead of pulling the belt yourself, there is a crank handle to make life easier. This is more suitable for larger/heavier shutters, and the crank works on 1:3 ratio so you can still open and close the shutter quickly if required.

Swivel Belt Operation

If your shutter is fitted externally and is small/light, but you want internal, manual operation, then this is the option for you. Simply pull the belt up or down to open and close the shutter.
